A one piece toilet - crafted as one piece, including the tank and bowl.
A two piece toilet consists of a separate tank and bowl, that are connected by a seal.
There are a lot of benefits to a toilet constructed in one piece. There are no gaps between the tank and bowl, so no place for contaminants, dirt or debris to collect. They are very strong, and less likely to break or to leak as there are no seals connecting the bowl and tank. Additionally, one piece toilets often feature completely skirted bowls that hide often unsightly and difficult to clean.
One piece toilets can be a bit more difficult to install, as they are heavier and may require two people to lift. But once installed, maintenance and cleaning are generally much easier.
Caroma has raised the game with their trademarked Smart Glaze™. Powered by Nano Technology. Nano technology dramatically alters the make-up of the bowl glaze surface giving it a micro thin layer of nano-particles that repel water, minerals and waste so the bowl area will stay cleaner and fresher longer.
Smart Glaze™ features:
- greater hygienic properties making fixtures easier to clean and to keep clean longer
- Alters the surface of vitreous china with nanoscale technology
- Repels liquids and oils and inhibits the spread of germs and bacteria
- they are whisper quiet, providing greater privacy
- they prevent the startling banging of a standard seat, and prevent other home occupants from being startled awake during late night bathroom visits
- they prevent small children from catching their fingers under a slamming lid
Soft close seats are really the current standard for seat design. Remember, it is the special hinges that prevent the seat from slamming closed, so it's important to always allow the seat to close on its own. Forcing the seat closed can damage the hinges.
Dual flush toilets can be operated with either a top mounted flush button, or a more typical lever handle. Top mounted buttons usually either have different sized buttons, to indicate the flush volume, or they may have etching to indicate full or reduced flush. With a lever handle, generally you push the handle down for a full flush, and pull the handle upward for a reduced flush.
Benefits of a skirted bowl include:
- they feature a beautiful clean design
- they are much easier to clean, as dirt and debris collects on an exposed trapway

A one piece toilet - crafted as one piece, including the tank and bowl.
Benefits of a two piece toilet design are:
- generally less expensive than a one piece toilet
- lighter and easier to install
- often smaller, easier to fit into a smaller space
The downsides of two piece design:
- they often, but not always, feature a more basic design
- there is a physical gap between the tank and bowl, creating an area that requires more cleaning and maintenance to prevent germs and odours
It is unique in that Smart Connect allows for installation into either a 10" or 12" rough-in, and anything in between!
Often what starts as a 12" rough in is altered during construction with the addition of tile or other boards, making a standard 12" rough-in toilet impossible to install. Smart Connect features an offset adaptor that fits over top of the rough in, and depending on the positioning of the adaptor, you can allow different rough in sizes.
Benefits of Smart Connect include:
- allows for installation with 10" - 12" rough in
- allows you to remove the bowl without touching the wax ring, as the wax ring remains covered and protected by the offset adaptor
- NO drilling into the floor is required
- beautiful - the bolt holes are small and discreet
Wall hung toilets have many benefits.
- They are huge space savers. Think of the room that a toilet tank takes up. That all now occupies space behind the wall, leaving more open space in the bathroom
- They can also provide the illusion of more space, as many models have a bowl elevated from the ground. This open space creates a more open looking room.
- They are easier to clean, particularly with models that feature an elevated bowl. You no longer have to reach around the tight area behind the bowl to clean as it is all open space.
- Because the tank is insulated behind the wall, the flush itself is extremely quiet
The tank of a wall hung toilet can be serviced through the flush button panel,
Open front seats are required in most commercial buildings for hygienic reasons. They tend not to have seat covers.

360 degree rotation for a faucet is handy, but not desirable in all situations. Having an optional mechanism that can limit the rotation to 140 degrees may be preferable in situations such as kitchen island installations to prevent water spillage.
When indicated with this icon, the faucet features both options. You choose if you would like the faucet head to be able to spin in complete circular motion, or if you would prefer that it be locked at 140 degree.
The faucet spout is designed to rotate 360 degrees.
360 degree turning gives you the most flexibility for filling pots and buckets outside the sink area.
By pressing a button the faucet spray can alternate between a steady or aerated water stream.
Most people have experienced using a pull down kitchen faucet that doesn't work well. The spray head pulls out, but doesn't easily glide back into place. This is the beauty behind a magnetic docking.
The pull down spray head of a kitchen faucet easily reattaches to the spout with the aid of a magnetic docking system.. The power of the magnetic does the work, by pulling the spray head in and clicking it into place.
A pull down kitchen faucet is pretty much what you would expect. The kitchen spray head is attached to the spout by a flexible hose that can be 'pulled down' or extended from the faucet body, allowing the user to direct the water wherever it is needed. Pull down kitchen faucets are great for cleaning the sink, rinsing dishes or filling pots and buckets.
A kitchen faucet with a steady, solid water stream. (No aerated option).
A one piece toilet is crafted in a solid piece, rather than separately as a bowl and tank that are joined together during installation. One piece toilets are stronger, heavier and generally accepted as premium products.
The typical bends and curves you see on a standard, bowl with an exposed trapway aren't visible. A skirted bowl looks better and is easier to clean.

Why does this mattter? With so many different basin shapes and depths, it is really difficult to know if the faucet you choose will match up well to the basin that you've chosen. If it doesn't align properly, every time you turn the faucet on, you can get a splash back of water, making hand washing a challenge. fluid swivel aerators prevents this by allowing you to redirect the water by pushing the aerator from side to side.
The Speed Connect screws directly to the plumbing fitting in the wall, It features a series of O ring connections that seal the spout or other shower component and make sure that they are water tight. If the fitting is too long for the application, you can simply cut off what is not needed, (making sure that at least 3 O rings remain).
The spout or other comonent then simply slides over the speed connector, making for a fast and easy installation.
Are you happy with the look and functioning of your shower, but really wish that you also had a hand shower? Switch uses your existing shower rough in valve, keeps the plmbing intact and just addes the missing element. You remove your shower head and arm, and replace with the Switch bar, that features both a shower head and hand shower, plus a diverter to direct the wand between the two components.
