To meet LEED specifications, UMUC’s new hotel was designed to utilize recycled materials and maximize energy efficiency. The hotel’s air conditioning system, for example, is chlorofluorocarbon free; the elevators are energy efficient; the toilets have dual flush options, for liquid or solid wastes.
